SEPHORA FAVORITES Give Me Some Nude Lip

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip (0.29 oz) retails for $28 USD ($33 CAD) and contains four deluxe-sized and one full-sized lip product, in cream to matte finishes. It is said to be "a multi-brand lip set with five lip color must-haves for the perfect nude lip." Breaking the item prices down, this set is roughly a $86 USD ($103 CAD) value.

Milky Way is a medium, muted brown beige with warm undertones and a satin finish. The packaging is a square, plastic tube with no noticeable scent or taste. This shade applied smoothly, mostly even and semi-opaque. I found that my natural lip pigmentation did show through in some areas due to the thinner consistency. Milky Way lasted +4 hours before fading. (4/5)

* MAC Kinda Sexy was more pink. MAC Velvet Teddy was darker, more pink. Too Faced Melted Chocolate Honey was lighter, more peach.

* Marc Jacobs (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil (0.01 oz.) — reg. $24 USD / $30 CAD (0.01 oz.)

Prim(rose) is described as a cocoa spice. [P]

Prim(rose) is a medium plum rose with warm undertones and a matte finish. The packaging was a retractable style pencil with no apparent scent or taste. The texture was soft, smooth and lightly creamy which made it easy to apply without tugging, dragging or creating jagged edges. It had nice color payoff, felt drying when worn alone but did help with the performance of other products when layered. Prim(rose) wore well for +4.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

* Bite Beauty Pepper was similar, glossy. Kat Von D Lolita was darker, muted. Marc Jacobs Infamous was brighter, more pink. Sephora Collection Marvelous Mauve was darker, muted.

* NARS Lipstick (0.12 oz.) — reg. $27 USD / $34 CAD (0.12 oz.)

Dolce Vita is described as a sheer dusty rose. [P]

Dolce Vita is a light, rose beige with warm undertones and a glossy finish. The packaging is a square, matte black tube with a silicone texture. The product itself has no scent or taste. This shade applied smoothly, mostly even and sheer. I felt it took several good passes of product to get a hint of color on the lips and even still, my natural lip pigmentation did show—keep in mind, the transparency of this shade will cause it to look different on everyone. Dolce Vita lasted +3.5 hours and felt slightly hydrating. (4/5)

* NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Crayon (0.088 oz.) — reg. $24 USD / $28 CAD (0.05 oz.)

Whisper is described as a nude. [P]

Whisper is a light, muted nude beige with warm undertones and a creamy, luminous finish. The packaging is a wooden crayon style pencil that does require sharpening—the stand alone crayons come with a sharpener, however, the set doesn't which was a downfall. The product itself has no noticeable scent or taste. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had nice color payoff. Due to the lighter nature, I found the color did fall into lip lines on a closer inspection, but never looked uneven. It had a light, creamy consistency (similar to Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks) that made it comfortable throughout wear. Whisper lasted +5 hours before fading. (5/5)

* ColourPop Choker (LE) was similar, less pink. Kat Von D Noble was lighter, more pink. Stila Caramello was muted, more grey toned.

* Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint (0.10 oz.) — reg. $20 USD / $24 CAD (0.20 oz.)

Namaste is described as a nude. [P]

Namaste is a light, peach beige with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The packaging was a plastic tube with a long, slightly angled velvet applicator. The product itself has a strong minty scent, but no noticeable taste. The texture was much thicker and mousse like compared to other formulas. It was much drier and powdery on the lips, as well as being clumpy and slippery to apply, making it difficult to create clean edges. It had bold pigmentation but once dry, the color cracked and accentuated fine lines, dry areas and imperfections. Namaste lasted +3.5 hours and felt drying. (3/5)

* Clinique Beige Pop was darker, more pink, glossy. Kat Von D Noble was more pink.

Overall, while the colors may not compliment every skin tone, the set did feature a nice variety of products and finishes. The deluxe sizes make it very easy to test out new formulas without committing to a full sized tube—personally, I found the traditional lipsticks to be rather sheer and the matte "liquid" lipstick to be overly drying, but I was delighted to discover the Nudestix Crayon as it's not typically something I would have tried outside of the set, but it quickly became a favorite. So, if you've been wanting to try out any of these shades or formulas, than it's definitely worth checking this set out first!

Marc Jacobs The Sofia, Five Piece Petites Le Marc Lip Crème Collection (5 x 0.05 oz.) retails for $45 USD ($54 CAD) and contains five deluxe-sized lipsticks. Breaking it down and doing the math, this set is a $62 USD ($79 CAD) value. It is said to be "a giftable collection of five deluxe-sized Le Marc Lip Crèmes inside a Marc Jacobs patent leather pouch."

* Blow is described as a dark berry velvet. [P]

* Boy Gorgeous is described as a berry rouge. [P]

The lipsticks come housed in a patent leather pouch with a magnetic closure—it almost feels like an over sized glasses case. The lipsticks themselves come in a smaller plastic lipstick tube and have no noticeable scent or taste. All five shades in this set are permanent and can be found in the regular line.

Blow is a medium-dark, burgundy red with cool undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, mostly even and semi-opaque. The pigmentation was only buildable to a certain degree and the color liked to grab and appear darker towards any imperfections on the lips. It had a creamy texture, but felt drying over time. Blow lasted +6 hours and left behind a stain. (4/5)

* Bite Beauty Black Cherry (LE) was warmer. Kat Von D Vampira was darker, warmer. MAC Studded Kiss was lighter, warmer.

Boy Gorgeous is a medium, brightened berry fuchsia with cool undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and mostly opaque. It had good pigmentation, but on a closer inspection there was a slight transparency to it. Boy Gorgeous wore well for +6 hours and left behind a stain. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Aubergine was darker. MAC Flat Out Fabulous was lighter, more magenta. Too Faced Melted Berry was lighter, more pink.

Dashing is a medium-dark, brightened red with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and mostly opaque. It glided-on easily, was comfortable throughout wear but felt drying towards the end. Dashing lasted +6.5 hours and left behind a stain. Worth mentioning: my lipstick broke off at the base of the tube on first application. (5/5)

* Clinique Cherry Pop was cooler, more red. Kat Von D Gold Blooded (LE) was warmer, more orange. Stila Fiery was darker, matte.

Infamous is a light-medium, muted rose pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had rich, opaque color payoff. It had a light, creamy consistency that was comfortable to wear and didn't tug or drag on lips during application. Infamous lasted +5 hours before fading. (5/5)

* Clinique Plum Pop was warmer. Kat Von D Double Dare was less pink, matte. Sephora Collection Marvelous Mauve was darker, muted.

So Sofia is a medium, brightened coral pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade also applied smoothly, evenly and full opaque. It had rich pigmentation that didn't tug or drag during application, but felt drying towards the end of wear. So Sofia lasted +5.5 before fading and left behind a stain. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Tangerine (LE) was warmer, more orange. MAC All Fired Up was darker, more red. MAC Impassioned was lighter, cooler, more pink.

Overall, this was a nice set for a great value—you're getting to try five shades for under the price ($30 USD, $38 CAD for 0.12 oz.) of two full sized Le Marc Lip Crème lipsticks! The shades featured are suitable for the holiday season and the satin finishes were comfortable and longer lasting. If you've been interested out these lipsticks, this set is the way to go since all of the shades are available in the permanent line!

Rose is a light-medium, rose pink with warm undertones and a sheer, luminous finish. The packaging is a sleek, metal tube with a screw on cap. The product itself has a subtle, citrus scent. The texture was soft, smooth and buttery. While the color was sheer, it did provide a nice hint of a red to the lips—of course, the shade will vary depending on your natural lip pigmentation. Rose wore well for +3.5 hours and was very hydrating, even after the product had worn off. (5/5)

Lolita is described as a chestnut rose

Lolita is a medium-dark, muted rose brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The packaging is a slim, plastic tube with a standard doe-foot applicator. The deluxe size was consistent in performance and quality as the full sized. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, fully opaque and had rich, opaque pigmentation. It had excellent performance throughout wear; it wasn't streaky or patchy once dry and it didn't crack or flake over time. Lolita wore well for +8 hours before fading. (5/5)

* Sephora Collection Marvelous Mauve was more pink. MAC Whirl was darker, more brown.

* Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss (0.10 oz.) — reg. $19 USD / $23 CAD (0.23 oz.)

202 is described as a sheer sweet pink

202 is a light, sheer pale peach with warm undertones and a glossy finish. The gloss comes housed with a uniquely-shaped, flexible applicator and no noticeable scent or taste. The texture was lightly tacky which did seem to tug at the lips during application, but the formula smooths out and only feels sticky once the product starts to wear down. Due to the soft, milky consistency I noticed that the color did settle into lip lines and grabs to imperfections and/or dry patches, but this was only noticeable at close inspection. 202 wore well for +4 hours before fading. (4/5)

Je T'Aime is described as a rum raspberry

Je T'Aime is a medium-dark, coral pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. The packaging is a smaller, plastic tube with no noticeable scent or taste. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had good, opaque pigmentation. It had a lightly creamy consistency applied easily across lips without tugging, dragging or feathering over time. Je T'Aime wore well for +5 hours and left behind a faint stain. (5/5)

* MAC D for Danger was darker, more red. MAC All Fired Up was lighter, more pink.

* Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion Lip Stain (0.068 oz.) — reg. $14 USD / $18 CAD (0.152 oz.)

Peony

Peony is a light-medium, muted red coral with warm undertones and a natural finish. The packaging is a test tube style tube with a slim, doe-foot applicator. The product itself has a very strong, petal/rose type scent/taste that lingers until the product wears away. Like your typical lip stain, the product starts as a liquid, applies glossy but eventually wears away into a subtle stain. It had a slightly uncomfortable consistency while drying/wearing, the only way I can describe it is if you were to apply a thin layer of white school glue to your lips—it feels very clingy. Peony wore away within 20 - 40 minutes and yielded a faint stain for +2.5 hours afterwards. (2/5)

* Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick (0.10 oz.) — reg. $17 USD / $20 CAD (0.10 oz.)

Coral Blossom is described as a salmon pink

Coral Blossom is a light, peach pink with warm undertones, gold shimmer and a creamy, luminous finish. The packaging is a cardboard tube and the product itself has a minty scent that provides a cooling tingle to the lips once applied. This shade went on smoothly, evenly and was buildable to a semi-sheer to mostly opaque coverage. It felt thinner and had more slip than your standard lipstick, but not enough to cause the color to move around. Coral Blossom wore well for +4.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

Overall, it is a pretty well rounded set of lip products—from mattes to moisturizing treatments. If you're a fan of the shades featured or you've been interested in trying out a few of the formulas, this set is a great, affordable way to do that before indulging in full sized product. After all, you are getting to try six products for basically the price of one! If it's caught your eye, it will definitely be worth checking out!

The full-sized liners regularly retail for $25 USD ($30 CAD) and contain 0.5 g of product. The deluxe-sizes in the set are 0.37 g each. With that said, you're getting to try 7 pencils for basically the price of two regular, full-sized liners.

Blacquer is a dark, true black with neutral undertones and a creamy finish. The formula was creamy, smooth, fully opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. It was intensely pigmented in a single swipe and lasted +10 hours on my lashline before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

Brown(out) is a medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a golden metallic finish. The formula was creamy, smooth, opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. It was fully pigmented in a single swipe and lasted +9 hours on my lashline before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

Midnight in Paris is a dark, navy blue with cool undertones and a metallic finish. This shade is limited-edition and exclusive to the set. The formula was lightly creamy, smooth, mostly opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. It was mostly pigmented in a single swipe, but buildable to an opaque coverage. Midnight in Paris lasted +9 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

O(vert) is a medium-dark, green olive with warm undertones and a metallic finish. The formula was creamy, smooth, mostly opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. It was mostly pigmented in a single swipe, but builldable to an opaque coverage. O(vert) lasted +9 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

(Plum)age is a medium-dark, purple with warm undertones and a metallic finish. The formula was creamy, mostly opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. The texture wasn't as smooth due to the higher frost content in the liner. It applied mostly even and pigmented in 3-4 swipes and lasted +9 hours before showing noticeable wear. (4/5)

Sunset is a light-medium, copper orange with warm undertones and a metallic finish. This shade is limited-edition and exclusive to the set. The formula was lightly creamy, smooth, mostly opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling. It was mostly pigmented in a single swipe, but was buildable to a more opaque coverage. Sunset lasted +9 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

Th(ink) is a dark, blue indigo with cool undertones and a metallic finish. The formula was creamy, mostly opaque and glided-on easily without tugging or pulling at the skin. It was pigmented in a single swipe and incredibly easy to build. Th(ink) lasted +10 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

Overall, the formula is very nice and you are getting a good deal by purchasing this set. While some of the shades do take a few layers and some building to achieve a fully opaque, intensely pigmented coverage, these pencils are long-lasting, smudge-proof, budge-proof and they hold up against humidity and water. This set is definitely worth checking out whether you're gifting, trying out the liners for the first time or a long-time fan who is eager to get their hands on the exclusive shades!
