LAURA MERCIER Smoky Suede Eye Colour Palette

Laura Mercier Smoky Suede Eye Colour Palette retails for $55 USD ($66 CAD) and contains five suede eye shadows (5 x 0.05 oz.) and a double-ended brush. This palette is limited edition and said to be "a palette of suede-inspired textured eye colors designed to deliver an airbrushed smoky eye."

Noir [LE]
Black Magic [LE]
Graphite [LE]
Slate [LE]
Ivory [LE]
"Create sultry, silky lids and frame eyes with soft, cushiony color. The smooth texture of these cream-to-powder shadows allows for an easy application with no fallout. This set includes a range of colors for a perfect transition from day to night, and includes two full-size brush heads on one compact brush. The unique formula creates a flawlessly airbrushed effect and truly transforms eyes. The palette features a zebra-print motif in keeping with Laura’s wild holiday theme."
The packaging is a plastic compact that features a zebra print design and a mirror. The compact only opens to a 90° angle which can make it difficult to use the mirror properly. My main concern with this palette is the cream products drying out easily since the compact only has a snap closure (not air tight) and while it has an overall sleek look, the plastic feels rather fragile to the touch.

The duel-ended synthetic brush is great. One end is a flat, rounded shadow brush that easily smooths color across lids. The other end is a fine, pointed pencil brush that works great for creating a more defined crease or smudging shades into the lash line as a liner.

The formula is a cream product but has a velvety, smooth texture. The product is weightless and almost bouncy or sponge-like to the touch. When swatched, the shadows almost dry down to a powder finish. However, when applied to the lids, the shadows stay soft, blendable and can be transferred if touched.

This palette is definitely best suited to use as a base for powder products. During testing, I didn't set these with a powder or apply an eye shadow primer. Within the first hour the shades had faded significantly and lightly creased. *Note, I don't have oily lids and products fading is usually never an issue for me.

While these do blend together beautifully, I noticed application could be a bit tricky. Initial application to my lids was flawless and the colors faded into each other like a dream. When I tried to blend the product into my crease, even the smallest amount, it became difficult to get a diffused edge — even using my finger to help blend the product out. I found as soon as I carefully applied any product into my crease, all of the colors mudded together and that flawless fade completely melted away.

Noir is a dark grey black with cool undertones and a satin finish. The texture was soft, semi-sheer and has decent color payoff. This shade took many layers and quite a bit of building on the lid to get a strong wash of color. Noir lasted +2 hours before fading drastically and left behind a faint stain. (3/5)
Black Magic is a dark grey black with cool undertones and a multicolored micro-sparkle. The texture was soft, sheer and had decent color payoff. This shade took layering and building on the lid to get a mostly there wash of color. When applied with a finger, the micro-sparkle adhered beautifully to the skin with no fall out. When applied with a brush, the micro-sparkle was barely noticeable at close inspection. Black Magic lasted +2 hours before fading drastically. (2/5)
Graphite is a medium-dark, grey taupe with warm undertones and a frosted lilac sheen. The texture was soft, semi-sheer and had decent color payoff. This shade took layering and building the product increased the frosted finish rather than enhancing the color. Graphite wore well for +2 hours before fading and lightly creasing. (2/5)
Slate is a light-medium, muted silver rose with warm undertones and a frosted pink sheen. The texture was soft, sheer and had barely there color payoff. This specific shade was stiffer, like the product had begun to dry out — it didn't have that same bouncy, velvety texture like the rest. Slate wore well for +1 hour before fading completely. (1/5)
Ivory is a light silver white with cool undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was soft, sheer, had good pigmentation but was almost chunky at times like the product had dried in those areas of the pan. This shade took the least layering and building to achieve good color payoff and a frosted finish. Ivory wore well for +3 hours before fading. (3/5)

Overall, this palette would be excellent as a base for powder products. This product was a  disappointment mainly because it was advertised as a standalone shadow palette. I feel like you end up using a lot of product and the design of the compact fails in keeping air away from the products, thus drying them out quicker over time. Although the shades are fairly basic in the palette, the undertones and micro-sparkle are very beautiful. I would love this palette if it set to a powder or was in powder form. Unless you like a very sheer wash of color and/or you intend on using this palette as a base, I would skip picking it up.

BITE Beauty Mix N' Mingle Lip Minis | Luminous Crème Lipstick Duos

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duos individually retail for $12 USD ($15 CAD) and are available in four tubes, each containing two shades (2 x 0.05 oz). These deluxe duos are limited edition, however some shades are part of the permanent line. They are exclusive to Sephora and are said to be "limited-edition luminous crème lipstick duos in head-turning hues and packaged in bright red ornaments for the holiday season."

Retsina is described as a natural pink. [P]
Musk is described as a pink brown. [P]
Fig is described as a nude rose. [P]
Date is described as a light brown nude. [LE]

Violet is described as a vibrant purple. [P]
Palomino is described as a vibrant magenta. [P]
Poppy is described as a apple red. [LE]
Scarlet is described as a deep burgundy. [LE]
"BITE’s latest breakthrough formula boasts a collection of beautiful nudes, striking reds, and deep burgundies with a matte yet moist texture. The secret is the moisture-locking power of orange peel wax along with the antioxidant properties of resveratrol. The colors are water-resistent, and long wearing."
The Luminous Crème Lipsticks retail for $24 USD ($28 CAD) and contain 0.15 oz. of product. Each duo contains $16 USD ($19 CAD) worth of product, so with that said, you are getting a good value. You're getting to try two shades for half the price of one regular sized, single tube.

If you're new to the brand here are some facts: Bite is exclusive to Sephora and their products are free of synthetics, polybutenes and petroleum byproducts. All lip products are made with nurturing food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat! The founder believes, "You eat what you put on your lips, so your lipstick should be good for you."

The packaging is a matte black, double-ended tube with a silicone texture. These lipsticks have a slight citrus scent that can be notice once applied, but not tasted. The caps feature the name of the product, which my biggest concern is accidentally switching them around and confusing shades.

I really like the idea of a double-ended tube, it's a lot more convenient than individual miniature sizes. However, I wish you had the option to pop them apart in the middle to mix and match ends and create your own combination of shades. (If you happen to buy a couple, of course.)

Retsina is a light, nude beige with neutral undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied smoothly, opaque and lightly moved around due to the creamy consistency. I found the pale nature of this lipstick emphasized any dry patches and imperfections on my lips. It was lightly hydrating when worn and lasted +4 hours before fading. (4/5)
Musk is a light-medium, rose beige with warm-to-neutral undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, opaque and had good color payoff. This shade is a great "my natural lip color but better" lipstick. It was lightly hydrating when worn and lasted +4 hours before fading. (5/5)

Fig is a light-medium, pink nude with warm undertones and a luminous, cream finish. This shade applied smoothly, mostly opaque and had good color payoff. I found the natural pigmentation of my lips did show through in some areas, but it didn't make the lipstick look uneven. Fig wore well for +4 hours and was lightly hydrating. (5/5)
Date is a light-medium, muted brown nude with warm undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied smoothly, mostly opaque and had good pigmentation. It was lightly drying over time and wore well for +4 hours. (5/5)

Violet is a vivid magenta fuchsia with cool undertones and a luminous, cream finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, opaque and had great pigmentation. This lipstick did feather slightly and moved around due to the creamier consistency. Violet wore well for +4.5 hours and left behind a stain. (5/5)
Palomino is a vivid fuchsia red with warm undertones and a luminous, cream finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, opaque and had great pigmentation. Again, this lipstick feathered slightly and moved around due to the creamier consistency. Palomino wore well for +4.5 hours and left behind a stain. (5/5)
 —
Poppy is a medium, bright red with cool undertones and a luminous, cream finish. This shade applied smoothly, mostly opaque, lightly feathered and moved around due to the creamy consistency. The color was uneven in some areas and looked almost streaky at times. Poppy wore well for +4 hours and left behind a stain. (4/5)
Scarlet is a medium-dark, burgundy with warm undertones and a luminous cream finish. This shade applied smoothly, semi-opaque and uneven in some areas. I noticed the color lightly settled into any fine lines and appeared more sheered out on the smooth surfaces of my lips. This may have been influenced by using a lip brush rather than applying directly from the tube, as the lipstick broke during testing. Scarlet wore well for +3.5 hours and left behind a stain. (3/5) *This was my first experience with a Bite lipstick breaking.

Overall, while I'm a huge fan of the Luminous Crème Lipstick formula, some of the shades were disappointing (mainly the Poppy and Scarlet duo.) They are creamy, opaque, have good pigmentation and lightly hydrate lips throughout wear. Bite tends to release these dual-ended lipsticks quite often, but if for some reason you can't get your hands on them, I would highly recommend checking out the permanent line!

BITE Beauty Mix N' Mingle Lip Minis | Matte Crème Lip Crayons

Bite Beauty Mini Matte Creme Lip Crayons individually retail for $12 USD ($15 CAD) and are available in three shades (0.031 oz). It is said to be "limited-edition matte crème lip crayons in head-turning hues and packaged in bright red ornaments for the holiday season."

Gavi is described as a fleshy peach nude. [LE]
Glacè is described as a dusty mauve. [P]
Maraschino is described as a vibrant red.
The Matte Crème Lip Crayons retail for $24 USD ($28 CAD) and contain 0.05 oz. of product. Each miniature lip crayon contains $15 USD ($17 CAD) worth of product for over half the amount of a regular sized tube, so with that said, you are getting a decent deal.

The packaging is a simple, matte black pen-style tube with a silicone texture. They have a slight citrus, herb scent that can be noticed on initial application. The packaging mimics the regular packaging in the sense that these pencils are retractable and everything under the cap is color coded depending on the shade. A main feature of the regular Matte Crème Lip Crayons is the very bottom section can be popped out to reveal a sharpener, however these deluxe sizes don't have one.

Gavi is a medium, muted peach nude with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, fully opaque and had great pigmentation. It was lightly creamy on the lips and lasted +5.5 hours before fading. (5/5)
Glacè is a medium, muted mauve rose with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, fully opaque and had great pigmentation. It was lightly creamy and lasted +5.5 hours before fading.(5/5)
Maraschino is a medium, vivid red with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly, full opaque and had great pigmentation. This shade was slightly creamier than the rest and wore well for +5.5 hours before leaving behind a stain. (5/5)

Overall, these lipsticks are great. The formula is long-lasting, pigmented, opaque, forgiving on drier lips and tends to be lightly hydrating over time. The Matte Crème Lip Crayons are one of my favorite lipsticks and the permanent line carries 12 shades in total  if you missed the chance to pick up these minis, the regular versions are definitely worth checking out!

Tarte Chic to Cheek Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set retails for $26.25 USD ($31.50 CAD) and contains four deluxe sized blushes (4 x 0.05 oz.) This set is limited-edition and exclusive to Tarte. It is said to be "an exclusive deluxe gift set featured Tarte's award-winning, celebrity-favorite blushes in 4 limited-edition shades."

Amour is described as a candy pink. [LE]
Classic is described as a soft apricot pink. [LE]
Daydream is described as a rosy pink. [LE]
Prim is described as a plum nude. [LE]

<<photo>>
"Dance “chic to cheek” with this delightful, 4-piece set of best-selling, long-wearing blushes infused with skin-balancing Amazonian clay. The heavenly, limited-edition shades deliver up to 12 hours of fade-free, flawless wear, even as you’re up in the clouds, dancing the night away. This romantically designed set also comes in gorgeous gift box packaging and is ideal for any blush enthusiast on your gift list."
The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes retail for $26 USD ($31 CAD) and contain 0.20 oz. of product. This set isn't necessarily a value, but you are getting to try four shades for the price of one regular sized blush.

While the compact is slightly smaller than the full-sized version, the only real difference is that they don't contain a mirror. The pans are still large enough to easily pick up product with a brush and the formula was consistent with the regular Amazonian Clay Blushes.

Amour is a light-medium, pink with hints of coral, warm undertones and very fine gold shimmer. The texture was soft, smooth, pigmented and blended out nicely and evenly on the skin. The fine shimmer was hardly noticeable once applied but the color was buildable. This shade wore well for +8.5 hours. (5/5)
Classic is a light-medium, pink peach with warm undertones and a satin matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, pigmented and blended out nicely and evenly on the skin. This shade was the least buildable of the bunch and wore well for +8 hours. (5/5)
Daydream is a medium-dark, rosy plum with warm undertones and a satin matte finish. The texture was dense, smooth, pigmented and lightly powdery on the skin. This shade was buildable and blended out nicely and evenly on the skin. It wore well for +8.5 hours. (5/5)
Prim is a medium-dark, muted dusty rose with hints of brown, warm undertones and a satin matte finish. The texture was dense, smooth, pigmented and lightly powdery on the skin. This shade was buildable and blended out nicely and evenly on the skin. It wore well for +8 hours. (5/5)

Overall, the blushes do fall short of the 12-hour claim, but they are a longer-lasting blush that is pigmented and buildable. While they do tend to be slightly dense in the pan, the texture and formula was no different than the regular versions. This set makes a wonderful gift so whether you're planning on last minute gifting to family, friends or yourself, I highly recommend checking this set out!

BUXOM Winner Takes All Lip Set

Buxom Winner Takes All Lip Set retails for $32 USD ($40 CAD) and contains 3 Full-On Lip Cream (0.07 oz.) and 3 Full-On Lip Polish (0.07 oz.) The set is limited-edition and exclusive to Sephora. It is said to be "a mini collection of six Full-On lip polishes and lip creams."

Berry Blast is described as a vivid fuchsia. [P]
Creamsicle is described as a peach sorbet. [P]
White Russian is described as a nude pink. [P]
Chloe is described as a dollface pink. [P]
Sophia is described as a sweetheart pink. [P]
Trixie is described as a 24-karat pink. [P]

"Smear on these tingling, lip-plumping glosses. With three sheer, shimmering lip polishes and a trio of sleek, lip creams in delicious shades, this set offers an array of lip shades to leave lips looking voluptuous."
The Full-On Lip Creams retail for $19 USD ($23 CAD) and contain 0.14 oz. of product. The Full-On Lip Polishes retail for $19 USD ($23 CAD) and contain 0.15 oz. of product. The deluxe glosses in this set are roughly half the size of a full-sized tube. With that said, this set is a $55 USD ($67 CAD) value  you're getting to try six shades for just under the price of two regular tubes.

The glosses have a doe-foot applicator and a light minty scent that can be tasted on initial application. Buxom glosses are known for having a subtle plumping effect that gives your lips a fuller look. The tingling sensation isn't as extreme as some lip plumping products, it doesn't burn but you can still feel the product working.

Berry Blast is a medium-dark, fuchsia pink with cool undertones and a creamy finish. This shade applied semi-opaque, tacky and settled into the fine lines of my lips due to the milky consistency. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)
Creamsicle is a light-medium, coral pink with warm undertones and a creamy finish. This shade applied semi-opaque, tacky and had a thicker consistency than your average gloss. Due to the milky appearance of the gloss, I noticed the color settled into the fine lines of my lips. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)
White Russian is a light-medium, peachy pink with warm undertones and a creamy finish. This shade applied semi-opaque, tacky and had an uneven appearance due to the milky color settling into the fine lines of my lips. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)
Chloe is a light-medium, peach coral with warm undertones and a fine shimmer. This shade applied sheer but had a high shimmer content that was noticeable on the lips. It lasted +3.5 hours before fading. (4/5)
Sophia is a light-medium, pink mauve with warm undertones and a fine shimmer. This shade applied sheer, tacky and had a light, creamy consistency making the shimmer not as noticeable and the product settle into any fine lines. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)
Trixie is a medium-dark, pink coral with warm undertones and a fine shimmer. This shade applied sheer but had a high shimmer content that was noticeable on the lips. It lasted +3.5 hours before fading. (5/5)

Overall, these glosses leave your lips looking glossy and fuller. The milky consistency of some shades does settle into the fine lines of lips, but they are colors that would look beautiful paired over other lip products. They do have a tackier texture but this causes the glosses to last longer. So, whether you're planning to gift this set, try the products out for the first time or you're a lipgloss junkie looking to get your hands on these, this set is definitely worth checking out.
