Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks (0.15 oz.) individually retail for $26 USD ($30 CAD) and are available in 34 permanent shades. They are said to be "a collection of high-impact lipsticks in dimensional shades that have been handcrafted to deliver extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear."

Created and crafted by hand, Bite’s small batch, low-heat process preserves a balanced blend of lip-quenching nutrients, vitamins, and omega oils that are essential for achieving healthy-looking lips. Made with 12 edible oils and triple milled pigments, this lipstick provides saturated lip color with weightless coverage and a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit."

If you're new to the brand here are some facts: Bite Beauty is exclusive to Sephora and their products are free of petrochemicals, they are also organic and all-natural. All of their lip products are made with nurturing food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat because the founder believes, "You eat what you put on your lips, so your lipstick should be good for you."

The packaging is their signature matte grey tube with a silicone texture and the lipsticks themselves have a natural citrus, herb type scent that can be noticed during application but never really tasted. The formula is very comfortable to wear, lightly creamy and they range from a satin to a more natural finish. They are also supply a nice, bold amount of color with 1 - 2 swipes while being hydrating and rather longer-lasting!

Eggplant is a medium-dark plum with cool undertones and a creamy, satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had a lightly creamy texture that made it comfortable and lightly hydrating. The pigmentation was mostly opaque, it didn't move around or feather during wear. Eggplant lasted +6.5 hours and left behind a satin. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Barberry (LE) was brighter, cooler, more purple. Bite Beauty 010 Boysenberry (LE) was brighter, cooler, more purple. ColourPop Bad Habit was lighter, warmer, more matte. Stila Aria was warmer, less purple, matte.

Spritzer is a medium, muted lavender purple with cool undertones and a creamy, satin finish. I found while the creamier texture didn't cause the color to slide around, it did ever-so-lightly fall into lip lines—however, nothing that was noticeable at a regular viewing distance. It had great color payoff, applied smoothly and was comfortable throughout wear. Spritzer lasted +5.5 hours and felt somewhat hydrating. (5/5)

* ColourPop Molly was lighter, more pink, matte. MAC Men Love Mystery was darker, warmer, more muted. NYX Playdate was lighter, more lavender.

Sugarcane is a light-medium pink with warm undertones and a creamy, satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had excellent, opaque color payoff. The texture was a tad thicker than the other shades, which I felt made any dryness or imperfections on the lips more noticeable. Regardless, it was just as comfortable to wear. Sugarcane lasted +4.5 hours before fading. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Cafe (LE) was warmer, more peach. ColourPop Spritz (LE) was warmer, more pink, less glossy. MAC Please Me was brighter, warmer, more pink.

Overall, despite being a new formula, these lipsticks still live up to expectations! In comparison to the Luminous Creme formula, the texture isn't as thick or as hydrating. I found they have much less slip and the finish isn't as luminous, they provide more of a satin finish to the lips.

In simple terms, if you were a fan of the older formula, you will be able to tell a difference between them BUT you will most likely be a fan of the new line. They're just as pigmented, comfortable and come in a great variety of shades—so with that said, the Amuse Bouche lipsticks are worth trying and I do recommend them!
