Nudestix Skin Glossing Pencil (0.10 oz.) retails for $24 USD ($28 CAD) and is available in one translucent, universal shade. It is said to be "a multi-tasking, sheer, skin glossing stick that provides a fresh glow to the complexion, lips and cheeks."

"This innovative Skin Glossing Pencil provides translucent shine and natural glow without adding color. It’s formulated with 30 percent, super-hydrating lip-protecting plant oils derived from rapeseed, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean. Lightweight and translucent, it leaves lips with a cushiony feel. "We love this Skin Glossing Pencil because it gives a fresh, nude glow that’s perfect for summer."—Ally and Taylor Frankel, NUDESTIX Co-founders and Chief Inspiration Officers"
For those that may not know, Nudestix is a Canadian brand that was created by two sisters, who are models and their mother, who has over 20 years of experience in the beauty world. The entire line is geared towards making minimal, no-makeup makeup easy while enhancing your natural features. All of their products are multipurpose, easy-to-use and are enriched with vitamins, antioxidants and moisturizers.
The packaging is a simple wooden crayon style pencil that does require sharpening, it also has no noticeable scent. Each Nudestix product comes housed in a sleek, black metal tin that features a mirror and includes a sharpener that can also conveniently double as a cap for the pencil—makes it incredibly handy for use on-the-go!
The Skin Glossing Pencil is a light, champagne peachy-pink with warm undertones when applied and becomes very sheer, nearly translucent once blended out—so it will be universally flattering on most, if not all skin tones. The texture is very smooth, creamy and has a light-weight consistency which applies easily. While the product never sets, it doesn't feel waxy or sticky on the skin, just slightly tacky. As someone who has extremely dry skin, I was pleased to see the product didn't accentuate dryness or any unwanted textures.
The subtle sheen it gives skin comes off looking very healthy and dewy, kind of like when you've just finished used a face mask, cleansing and moisturizing your face afterwards—your skin is left radiant and glowing from within! It doesn't come off greasy or oily, but for someone who has a very oily skin type or tries to avoid looking shiny at all cost, than the Skin Glossing Pencil may not be for you.
My favorite method of application is to apply the product directly onto my ring/middle finger and dab it on the area I want highlighted—I find using your finger helps warm the product up and dabbing, rather than rubbing, prevents disturbing or moving around any makeup underneath, like foundation, etc. On bare skin, however, it can be applied much easier and it really livens up the face on it's own with minimal effort—after all, that's what Nudestix aims to achieve. Plus, it's such a quick step if you're in a rush or on-the-go for those minimal, "no makeup" makeup days.
The Skin Glossing Pencil is definitely multi-purpose, as promised. It can be used on the eyes, face and other parts of the body as a highlight or you could even dust on a powder highlighter over top to really amp up the shine—the Glossing Pencil's light tackiness will act as a base, it'd be like using your highlighters with a damp brush, mega high shine!
Another way to use this product, as suggested by the brand, is to wear it alone or pair it over other lip products. Nudestix says it's formulated with plant oils that benefit your skin as well as hydrate. It's a fun product to use on the lips, especially to add a creamier, not-so-matte appearance to uncomfortable, ultra matte lipsticks. I wouldn't say it necessarily gives the same shine as pairing a regular gloss or balm over would—a huge bonus is it didn't cause lipsticks to break down or wear off quickly! The slight champagne, golden pink coloring can alter the shade underneath, but it tends to give an almost iridescent look to lips!
Overall, this is a fun product both for wearing and playing around with—the concept is much different than other products on the market, which I feel is something that can be appreciated. While I don't normally reach for cream or liquid products for highlighting the face, this has easily become a go-to for my minimal, "mascara and brows only" type of days—it just leaves your skin looking fresh, dewy and summer ready!
