Breaking it down and doing the math, this set is an $59 USD ($69 CAD) value. It is said to be "a gift-ready set of four, deluxe-size Mini Matte Crème Lip Crayons in a purse-sized holiday tin."

If you're new to the brand here are some facts: Bite is exclusive to Sephora and their products are free of petrochemicals. They are also organic and all-natural. All lip products are made with nurturing food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat! The founder believes, "You eat what you put on your lips, so your lipstick should be good for you."

The packaging is a simple, matte black pen-style tube with a silicone texture. They have a slight citrus, fruity scent that can be noticed on initial application. The packaging mimics the regular packaging in the sense that these pencils are retractable and everything under the cap is color coded depending on the shade—the only difference is these deluxe sizes don't come housed with a sharpener hidden in the very bottom section like the regular Matte Crème Lip Crayons.

Aubergine is a medium-dark, berry red with cool undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had mostly opaque pigmentation. Despite being a deeper shade, it was never difficult to apply and it didn't feather over time. Aubergine wore well for +6.5 hours and left behind a stain. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Sugared Maple (LE) was brighter, cooler. Kat Von D Wolvesmouth was brighter, metallic. MAC Rebel was lighter, cooler, more pink. Sephora Collection Blackberry Sorbet was darker, muted, matte.

Cafè is a light-medium, nude pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had rich, opaque color payoff. Due to the more pale nature, the color ever-so-lightly fell into lip lines over time—this could be easily corrected by pressing your lips together occasionally to smooth the product back out. Cafè lasted +5 hours before fading. (5/5)

* Bite Beauty Fig was more pink. Clinique Beige Pop was lighter, more orange. MAC Please Me was more pink.

Coulis is a medium-dark, crimson red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and mostly opaque. I noticed on closer inspection that the color lightly settled into the fine lines of my lips over time, but never looked uneven or darker in areas. This was surprisingly a more unique red, I had nothing quite similar to it. Coulis lasted +6 hours and left behind a stain. (5/5)

Torte is a medium-dark, rose plum with warm undertones and a satin finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had nice, opaque pigmentation. The creamier consistency made it very comfortable and lightly hydrating throughout wear. Torte wore well for +5.5 hours before fading. (5/5)

* Clinique Plum Pop was cooler, more pink. Kat Von D Double Dare was muted, more pink, matte. Marc Jacobs Je T'Aime was darker, more red.

Overall, this is an all around great set for an incredible value—you're getting to try four shades for the price of one regular sized Matte Crème Lip Crayon. The mirrored tin is durable and convenient to throw in your purse (and not just to store lip products, but anything like hair ties, bobby pins, jewelry, etc.), the shades are suitable for the autumn/winter seasons and the formula is comfortable, lightly hydrating and easy to apply due to the retractable, crayon style.

Bite Beauty is honestly one of the most generous brands when it comes to holiday sets and they've easily become one of my most looked forward to things each year! Even if you're not the biggest fan of lip products, this set is still definitely worth checking out!
