MAC Magnetic Nude Collection

MAC released their newest winter collection Magnetic Nude December 26, 2013 in-stores and online. The collection included 5 eye shadows, 3 fluidlines, 1 mascara, 4 lipsticks, 5 tinted lipglasses, 3 blushes, 3 skinfinishes and 2 brushes. The collection is based on "natural nudes and glimmering metallics." Here's what I picked up from the collection...

* Extra Dimension Skinfinish $30 USD / $35 CAD (0.31 oz.) [LE]

Superb is described as a soft peachy nude with multi-dimensional shimmer. [Repromote]

Magnetic Appeal is described as a medium tan with fine gold sheen.

Fairly Precious is described as a peach with dimensional pearly sheen.

Amorous Alloy is described as a deep terracotta copper.

Silver Dawn is described as a dirty grey mauve.

Close Contact is described as a creamy peach.

Carnal Instinct is described as a deep brick red with gold pearl.

* Tinted Lipglass $15 USD / $18 CAD (0.17 oz.) [LE]

Hell Bound is described as a brick red with gold pearl.

The Extra Dimension Skinfinishes all have a metallic finish to them. They were all long-lasting, both worn as a highlighter and blush, soft and apply beautifully. Enlargement of pores is very minimal, which is awesome considering how frosty, metallic and shimmery they are. Great products, skinfinishes will always be my go-to for highlighters. The Superb I received came collapsed in the middle, a perfect center, most likely from the pan -- was a little strange!

The Extra Dimension Eyeshadows were mediocre when applied dry, they were a little powdery and sheer. Using them wet or with a damp brush and treating them as you would a mineral eyeshadow will give you full payoff for these products. When wet they are smooth, intense, metallic and the color payoff is phenomenal. They're not my favorite shadows to work with but they're pretty.

The lipsticks are both creamy, opaque and almost hydrating. Carnal Instinct is a frost finish and the golden pearl can definitely be noticed. I liked this lipstick for how evenly it applied, I usually don't have luck with frost finishes. Close Contact is an amplified finish so you know it's going to be ultra creamy! I was hoping for a nice nude shade, but it's a little too orange for my skintone.

The Tinted Lipglasses aren't overly opaque, so don't expect them to be a regular lipglass. The sparkle is the first go go when wearing, Hell Bound lasted three to three and a half hours on me. I can't wait to pair it over Carnal Instinct, how beautiful will that be!
