BITE Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayons (Summer | Framboise, Tatin)

Bite Matte Crème Lip Crayon (0.05 oz) retails for $24 USD ($28 CAD) and is currently available in 6 shades, with more to come this Fall. It is said to be "a long-wear, hydrating lipstick that leaves lips with a soft, matte finish."

* Framboise is described as a vibrant pink/purple.

* Tatin is described as a rose pink.

"Refresh your lip look with a bold wash of color. This BITE Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon with Reservatrol offers lip shades in beautiful nudes, striking reds, and deep burgundy hues—in a matte yet moist texture that leaves lips hydrated. Water-resistant and long-lasting, it’s formulated with orange peel wax to lock in moisture, while the resveratrol acts as an antioxidant for lips."

The packaging is a simple, matte black pen-style-tube with a silicone texture. The very bottom section is no longer color coded depending on the shade (like the old style, see below) but instead, can now be popped out to revile a sharpener! They've newly updated this style of packaging so everything under the cap is color coded instead, which looks pretty but it's frustrating not being able to tell which shade is which while being stored.

The scent is somewhere on the slight citrus/herb side. The formula is opaque, soft, smooth and doesn't pull or tug at your lips when applying. The color is buildable and applies fully pigmented and even in a single swipe. For being labeled as a matte finish, these lipsticks are very comfortable to wear and I didn't find the formula drying.

Framboise is a medium raspberry pink. Tatin is a medium pink beige. They both have a satin finish which can leave a slight shine depending how much you build the lipstick. The formula is lightly hydrating when worn and didn't settle into fine lines, bleed or feather. Both lipsticks are long-wearing, very pigmented and depending on the shade, left behind a stain. On average, they wore +6 hours before showing noticeable wear.

The only real downfall with these lipsticks is they are only 0.05 oz. while most other lipsticks (Bite High Pigment Pencils) are 0.09 oz. for the same price. Overall, the formula is very nice for a matte and I really like the sharpener feature built-in to the pencils packaging.

Bite Beauty is releasing more shades into this line come August — which I am planning on picking up some more shades (dark berry lips!) so heads up for another review in the future on the Matte Crème Lip Crayons!

FRESH Sugar Lip Service

I was thrilled during my last Sephora visit to see a deluxe set that included the newest shade to the Fresh Sugar line! Tulip was available to Sephora VIB members as an early access perk last month and is now rolling out into stores to the public. I couldn't find this set anywhere online so check your local stores!

Fresh Sugar Lip Service retails for $40 USD ($40 CAD) and contains four items in total; two lip treatments (0.08 oz. each), one advanced therapy treatment (0.08 oz.) and a lip polish/scrub (0.28 oz.).

* Sugar Rose Tinted is described as a sheer rosy tint.

* Sugar Tulip Tinted is described as a sheer hot pink tint.

* Sugar Advanced Therapy is described as translucent.

The packaging for the lip treatments is a nice, brushed metal with a screw on cap. For being deluxe sized they feel sturdy and secure which is nice, as it reassures they won't be easily damaged if I were to throw them in my purse or makeup bag.

The products themselves are very soft, smooth, buttery and hydrating. They are great for an every day treatment to refresh your lips or to throw on quickly for a hint of color. All three shared a slight citrus scent that can be tasted. I personally love the scent, it's very refreshing! I found the Sugar Advanced Therapy was more hydrating and repaired my lips slightly better than the regular Sugar Tinted Treatments. As expected with a balm, these shades only lasted about +3 hours before fading.

The Sugar Lip Polish is said to be "a unique formula [that] is enriched with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes. It nourishes the lips with the oils of meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture." The scent is similar to the other Sugar Lip products, citrus but with a hint of brown sugar. The taste is slightly bitter so I wouldn't recommend leaving it on your lips, or licking the remaining sugar off. It does a good job of removing dry flakes and imperfections from lightly chapped lips. It's hydrating and very gentle, especially compared to the old toothbrush method.

Overall, this set is a great deal if you've never tried the products before. It allows you to get a full experience of the Fresh lip line at a lower cost. Even if you have tried the line, the deluxe sizes are great for travel or to give away as gifts. These lip treatments are everything they claim to be; hydrating with a hint of color. MAC Moody Blooms Collection

This was a very frustrating collection. Originally set to release online June 19th, was pushed back until June 24th and changed again to release online the same day as in-store release. A few sleepless nights later, the products are here and ready to be reviewed! (Along with some other goodies, but those are for a later day.)

MAC released their newest, summer collection Moody Blooms June 26, 2014 online and in-stores. The collection featured sheen supreme lipglass tints and lipsticks, eyeshadows, fluidlines, blushes and brushes. It wasn't the most exciting collection and the continued setback definitely snuffed some of the hype.

"Exotic, night-blooming flowers with a hint of danger inspire a hothouse of seductive shades. Sensual colours shroud eyes in earthy metallic Eye Shadows and lips suggest hidden motives with deep blue plum and dark berry hues of Sheen Supreme Lipstick. Bronze Powder Blush provides a final adrenaline surge before these beauties dissolve into the night.flowers with a hint of danger inspire a hothouse of seductive shades. Sensual colours shroud eyes in earthy metallic Eye Shadows and lips suggest hidden motives with deep blue plum and dark berry hues of Sheen Supreme Lipstick. Bronze Powder Blush provides a final adrenaline surge before these beauties dissolve into the night."

Here's what I picked up from the collection...

* Blush $21 USD / $25 CAD (0.21 oz.) [LE]

Bred for Beauty is described as a mid-tone blue pink. [Matte]

Worldly Wealth is described as a shimmering peachy bronze. [Frost]

* Fluidline $16 USD / $19 CAD (0.10 oz.) [LE]

Black Ivy is described as a blackened green.

* Eyeshadow $15 USD / $18 CAD (0.05 oz.) [Permanent]

Lucky Green is described as a frosted mid-tone lime. [Veluxe Pearl]

*This collection features standard, signature packaging. If you've seen the collection's promo pictures it looked as if the packaging was going to be a deep, teal rubberized matte. Unfortunately, it was just their clever lighting.

Blushes:

- Bred for Beauty is a brightened fuchsia with noticeable cool undertones and a flat matte finish. The texture is very fine and soft, but powdery and almost chalky on the skin. This shade has great, bold pigmentation but the color applies slightly uneven because of the texture. This also made it a little more difficult to blend out. Bred for Beauty lasted +7 hours before fading. (4/5)

- Worldly Wealth is a brown bronze with orange undertones and a frost finish. The texture is soft, smooth, applies evenly and can be easily blended. It has great color payoff, it is buildable and leaves a beautiful bronze sheen on the skin. Depending on what method you use to apply, this shade could be used as a blush and/or a highlight. Worldly Wealth lasted +8 hours before slightly fading. (5/5)

Fluidlines:

- Black Ivy is a deep, dark teal with a very slight sheen. The texture was creamy, glided-on easily and didn't pull or tug at the skin when applying. It had good color payoff in a single swipe and was buildable to a more opaque coverage. This liner lasted +8 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)

Eyeshadows:

- Lucky Green is a brightened lime green with yellow undertones and a golden frost finish. This shade is part of the permanent line and I owned it previous to this collection. The texture was soft, smooth and applied evenly. This shade had full color payoff and can be used both wet and dry. When used wet, the golden frost becomes more noticeable and metallic. (5/5)

Overall, Moody Blooms was a pretty underwhelming collection but I am okay with that. It will be a nice break from all these excellent collection MAC has been releasing back to back. That is, until late August when the MAC A Romance Novel collection is released and it only gets better from there...
