The packaging is a gloss style tube with a velvet, doe-foot applicator—the tubes themselves are made of a thick plastic and metal cap which feels very durable and quite luxurious in the hand. They also have a sweet vanilla scent that can be noticed during application, but not during wear.
The formula is a thicker, mousse-like texture that is extremely pigmented and dries within 20 - 60 seconds of application. You will want to avoid pressing your lips together or applying more product while the Matte Lip Paints dry, as it can cause the color to lift in areas and appear streaky, patchy or uneven. The color does cling to lips but never felt overly drying or uncomfortable. This formula is extremely long-wearing and lasts between 7 - 10 hours when worn alone—keep in mind that layering products, like glosses, or eating oily foods can cause the wear time to be cut down drastically.
Bashfulis a medium, muted peach beige with hints of brown, warm undertones and a matte finish. This shade applied smoothly, evenly and had nice, opaque coverage. The pigmentation covered lips very easily and never appeared streaky or patchy. I also didn't experience any cracking or flaking as the product faded throughout wear. Bashfullasted +8.5 hours before fading. (5/5)
Demureis a medium-dark, muted marsala red with cool undertones and a matte finish. It applied smoothly, evenly and had excellent color payoff. Despite being a darker shade, I never found it to look lighter or cling to dry areas and the product wore away evenly over time. Demure wore well for +9.5 hours and left behind a faint stain. (5/5)
Flirtatiousis a medium-dark, muted red pink with warm undertones and a matte finish. This particular shade had a thicker, whipped consistency than the others, but that never affected wear or made it more difficult to apply. It had great, opaque pigmentation that smoothed across lips evenly and didn't crack or flake over time. Flirtatiouslasted +8.5 hours and left behind a faint stain. (5/5)
Overall, these are very nice liquid lipsticks that come in a great variety of wearable shades! While the Matte Lip Paints do sit on the more expensive side, the good news is you're getting twice the amount of product compared to what most brands offer for a similar price—more bang for your buck! The formula is pigmented, long-lasting and easy to apply; the true, matte finish is also comfortable and never gives lips that drying "cling wrap" appearance. Whether you're a fan of matte lipsticks in general or you've been interested in trying the brand, these ones are certainly worth checking out!
