MAC x Cinderella Collection

MAC released their newest collection MAC x Cinderella on February 26, 2015 online and March 5, 2015 in-stores. The collection featured lipsticks, lipglasses, fluidlines, pigments, glitters, eye glosses, mascara, an eye shadow palette and face powders. The products are housed in special edition packaging so there is a slight price increase for some products.

"The most famous Disney princess of all inspires a limited-edition colour collection magical enough to make all your dreams come true. Beloved for her kind heart and determined mind that dares to dream, Cinderella envisages enough makeup shades to fill a pumpkin carriage. All products are transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging that could rival the most regal of gowns."
Here's what I picked up from the collection...

Beauty Powder $28 USD / $33 CAD (0.35 oz.) [LE]
  •  Mystery Princess is described as a pinky beige w/ silver shimmer. [Matte]
Mystery Princess is a pale beige with cool undertones, white sparkle and a frosted sheen finish. The texture was soft, smooth but felt dense and harder to pick up at times due to the high shimmer content. The sparkle was noticeable once applied and did transfer and fall to other areas of the face during wear. It left a sparkly, frosted sheen to the skin that didn't emphasize the look of pores or imperfections. Mystery Princess wore well for +7.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

Iridescent Powder $28 USD / $33 CAD (0.28 oz.) [LE]
  •  Coupe D'Chic is described as a light golden peach w/ solid shimmer. [Iridescent]
Coupe D'Chic is a light, pink peach with warm undertones and a gold sparkle. Once again the texture was soft, smooth but felt dense to pick up at times due to the high shimmer content. The sparkle was highly noticeable and again, it did travel to other areas during wear. It left a frosted, almost metallic sheen to the skin that lightly emphasized imperfections and enlarged the look of pores on the face. Coupe D'Chic wore well for +7 hours before fading. (4/5)

* Pigment $24 USD / $29 CAD (0.15 oz.) [LE]
  •  Evil Stepmother is described as a blackplum w/ plum pearl.
  •  Pretty It Up is described as a gold.
Evil Stepmother is a dark, blackened purple with cool undertones, pink shimmer and a matte finish. The texture was drier, but was very fine and smooth. When applied dry it was uneven, had okay pigmentation and the shimmer was less noticeable due to not adhering to the skin. When applied wet it was more opaque and pigmented, had a more noticeable pink sheen but it became more difficult to blend out. This shade was frustrating to work with and lasted +7 hours before fading. (4/5)
 - Pretty It Up is a medium-dark, golden bronze with slight olive shift, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was chunkier, but broke down easily, smoothly and blended nicely. When applied dry it was mostly opaque; applied wet, it was opaque, pigmented and had an intense metallic finish. This shade lasted +9 hours before fading. (5/5)  *I previously owned this shade from the MAC Objects of Affection Holiday Pigment sets, therefore the quality and performance may vary from collection to collection.

Glitter $17.50 USD / $28 CAD (0.15 oz.) [P]
  •  Reflects Pearl is described as a very fine particle white glitter w/ pearl sheen.
Reflects Pearl is a very fine, white glitter that gives off a wet, pearl sheen look when applied more concentrated with a glitter adhesive. This glitter doesn't adhere to skin very well and tends to travel during wear so an adhesive, like Lit Cosmetics Clearly Liquid Glitter Base, is recommended for cleaner, more intense application. (5/5) *This glitter is not safe for the eyes and is not recommended for use in that area, but it can be used on the face, skin, hair and nails.
