Let's start off by mentioning what a great value this set is considering you're getting two products for the price of one... Wow! The mascara is full size and regularly retails for $20 USD ($25 CAD - NOTE, Canada saves a dollar!) Plus, you're getting a deluxe size liquid eyeliner for free! If you're interested in trying either product, this set is the way to go...

The applicator is a rather unique, flexible silicone wand. The spiraled spikes along the wand are great for regular application and combing through lashes. The spiked ball at the very tip is great for coating the outer and inner lashes easily to achieve that wispy signature Kat Von D lash look. The brush is a little intimidating at first, but it allows total control and makes application fool-proof.

The formula is a rather thick cream that is lightweight, so it doesn't weight your lashes down. This mascara coats lashes evenly and leaves them feeling soft and flexible throughout wear. It did lengthen and curl lashes nicely, but I saw no added volume. While this mascara didn't separate lashes, it didn't clump them together either - that is unless you're applying a second coat. Layering this mascara over itself once dry causes your lashes to look more clumpy, especially towards the base.

The pigmentation is decent; while lashes are left looking black, it's not the ultra black that it claims to have. There are definitely darker, most intense and highly-pigmented mascara options out there.

This mascara is not waterproof and lasted +7 hours before losing most of it's curl and +10 hours before flakes of mascara could be found under my eyes - which falls short of their 24 hour claim.

* Tattoo Liner (0.007 oz.) – reg. $18 USD / $23 CAD (0.02 oz.)

The applicator is a real brush made up of synthetic bristles. The tip comes to a very fine point making it easy to apply, define and draw precise lines.

The formula is a liquid and it sets 10-30 seconds after application. Once the liner sets it becomes budgeproof, smudgeproof and doesn't bleed, run or fade until you're ready to remove it. The liner glides-on extremely easily, evenly and doesn't tug or pull at skin when applying.

The pigmentation is decent in a single stroke but for full, intense color payoff it's best to layer this product 2-3 times for an opaque coverage.

Like most liquid eyeliners, this pen does need to be shaken before use. Nothing extreme, just a quick 3-5 second shake and you're good to go. Otherwise the formula will become watered down and less pigmented.

Overall, this is a great value set and it's definitely worth checking out if you're interested in trying either product. Although the products in the set fall short of their high claims, they're still good products! The Immortal Lash is nice if you're looking for a lengthening mascara and you don't need much added volume - plus, you'll be getting a long-wearing, easy to use pen liner thrown in for free!
