MAC released their mother, daughter duo collection Sharon and Kelly Osbourne June 2, 2014 online and June 12, 2014 in-stores. The collection features special edition packaging as well as limited edition lipsticks that are leaving beauty enthusiasts fighting to get their hands on!
"The fabulous mother-daughter duo of Sharon and Kelly Osbourne come to MAC with a two-part collection of statement-making hues for eyes, lips, face and nails."
Here's what I picked up from the collection...
* Kelly Lipstick $17.50 USD / $21 CAD (0.10 oz.) [LE]
* Sharon Lipglass $16.50 USD / $20 CAD (0.17 oz.) [LE]
* Sharon Patentpolish Lip Pencil $21.50 USD / $25.50 CAD (0.08 oz.) [LE]
* Kelly Lip Pencil $16.50 USD / $20 CAD (0.05 oz.) [LE]
• Dodgy Girl is described as a light lavender. [Matte]
• Kelly Yum-Yum is described as a bright blue pink [Satin]
• Riot House is described as a light vivid orange. [Matte]
• Strip Poker is described as a light nude. [Matte]
Dodgy Girl is a light pink-lavender with a slightly satin sheen. The formula was creamy but a tad drying when worn for an extended period of time. The lipstick applied smoothly, easily, mostly opaque and lasted +5 hours before noticeably settling into the fine lines of my lips. (5/5)Kelly Yum-Yum is a vivid, fuchsia pink with cool undertones and a satin finish. The formula was creamy and left a slight shine on the lips. The lipstick applied smoothly, easily and fully opaque. It lasted +6 hours and left behind a stain. I compared this shade to Candy Yum Yum (see below for comparison) which is brighter and more cool toned. (5/5)Riot House is a light orangey, nude peach with a matte finish. The formula was creamy but drying and highlighted any imperfections or dry patches of the lips. The lipstick applied smooth, opaque but settled into fine lines two hours into wear. This lipstick would be best paired with a lip liner and wore +4 hours by itself. (4/5)
Strip Poker is a light, nude beige with a matte finish. The formula was creamy but drying and highlighted imperfections and dry patches, however not as bad as Riot House. The lipstick applied smooth, fully opaque but settled into the fine lines of my lips. It wore +4 hours before showing noticeable settling. (4/5)
* Sharon Lipglass $16.50 USD / $20 CAD (0.17 oz.) [LE]
• Bijou is described as a soft rose.
• Pussywillow is described as a light neutral gold.
Bijou is a medium pink with a creamy, glossy finish. This gloss applied somewhat sheer and because of the creaminess, it very slightly settled into the fine lines of my lips. The formula, like all lipglass, was slightly thicker and tackier than an average gloss. It lasted +4 hours before showing noticeable wear. (5/5)Pussywillow is a pale yellow, champagne with gold shimmer. The base color of this gloss was mostly transparent and applied sheer besides the shimmer. The formula, like all lipglass, was slightly thicker and tackier than an average gloss. The shimmer was noticeable and the gloss wore well for +5 hours before fading. (My mom also picked up this shade and loves the sparkle! n.n) (5/5)
* Sharon Patentpolish Lip Pencil $21.50 USD / $25.50 CAD (0.08 oz.) [LE]
• Patentpink is described as a washed-out lilac.
Patentpink is a light pink with cool undertones and a glossy finish. The texture was thin, similar to a lip balm and was slightly hydrating. It applied smoothly, evenly, semi-opaque and was buildable. This shade lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (My favorite MAC girl suckered me into picking this shade up to pair over Dodgy Girl, still unsure about that impulse buy!) (4/5)
* Kelly Lip Pencil $16.50 USD / $20 CAD (0.05 oz.) [LE]
• In Synch is described as a bright yellow pink.
In Synch is a peachy pink with a matte finish. I found this shade almost pulled orange on my skintone (NW10/NW15) and it was drying while worn alone on the lips. I'd still recommend pairing your favorite nude or coral lipstick or gloss over top. (The colored tip was missing a bit in the center, a little strange. I'm not sure if it chipped off or was a packaging flaw. See below for image.) (4/5)
* Kelly Powder Blush $22 USD / $27.50 CAD (0.21 oz.) [LE]
• Cheeky Bugger is described as a peach brown. [Satin]
Cheeky Bugger is a light pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was soft, smooth, finely-milled and was easy to apply and blend. The blush looks slightly darker when applied than it does in the pan, but it's still a light enough shade that would suit fair skin tones best. It had buildable coverage and lasted +8 hours before showing noticeable fading. (5/5)
* Sharon Powder Blush $22 USD / $27.50 CAD (0.21 oz.) [LE]
• Peaches & Cream is described as a mid-tone rose. [Satin]
Peaches & Cream is a medium pink with cooler undertones. This blush leaves a nice sheen behind on the skin that isn't overpowering and doesn't emphesize the look of imperfections. The texture was soft, smooth, finely-milled and was easy to apply and blend. It had buildable coverage and lasted +8 hours before showing noticeable fading. (My favorite powder item of the collection!) (5/5)
* Kelly Mineralize Skinfinish Duo $33 USD / $38.50 CAD (0.32 oz.) [LE]
• Jolly Good is described as a light cool beige / soft pale pink. [Satin]
Jolly Good is a bronzer and highlighter duo, in theory. *The bronzer shade is a light, gold-brown with a satin finish. The texture was soft, smooth, finely-milled but slightly powdery. *The highlighter shade is a light pink with yellow undertones and a gold shimmer. The texture was soft, smooth, slightly powdery and left behind a natural glow. *This duo is best suited for fair skin tones due to how light/pale the product is. I found because of the powdery texture it almost sat on the skin rather than blending in. The duo lasted +7 hours before showing noticeable fading. (4/5)
* Sharon Mineralize Skinfinish Duo $33 USD / $38.50 CAD (0.32 oz.) [LE]
• Refresh is described as a light summer peach tan / golden pink. [Satin]
Refresh is a bronzer and highlighter duo, in theory. *The bronzer shade is a medium brown with yellow undertones and a slight gold sheen. The texture was soft, finely-milled and blended easily. *The highlighter shade is a light peach with warm undertones and a frost finish. The texture was soft, finely-milled and left behind a natural glow. *This duo was slightly powdery, but less powdery than Jolly Good. It was also better pigmented and easier to blend. The duo lasted +8 hours before showing noticeable fading. (When I first picked this shade up in-store the entire pan was shattered! Luckily, the girls were understanding and kind enough to swap out a new one for me. I've seen a few other people around the web had this issue also.) (5/5)
Overall, I was surprised by how much I ended up wanting/getting from this collection. I've grown up seeing the Osbourne's here and there, it's neat to see how they've grown and the strong bond between Mother and Daughter. This collection seemed like one-of-a-kind and I appreciate how involved they both got in making the collection!
