Pure Heroine is described as a deep plum. [Amplified]
Pure Heroine is a muted, plumy purple with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. The texture is creamier and had more slip than an average amplified lipstick, but because of that I found this lipstick applied unevenly, semi-opaque and feathered very slightly. This lipstick is best paired with a lip liner to prevent feathering, settling into fine lines of the lips and to enhance the color payoff. On average, this lipstick wore +4.5 hours by itself, +6 hours paired with a lip liner and left behind a subtle stain.
I thought the MAC x LORDE lipstick would be similar to MAC Heroine and MAC Punk Couture but it isn't -- it is almost a perfect mixture of the two. Heroine is warmer, slightly pinker and more vivid. Punk Couture is darker, more purple and cool toned. (See below for a swatch comparison.)
