Ever since the release of this palette there has been a lot of talk over the pastel shades favoring lighter skin tones. While this is certainly true, applied on top of a base or primer they will be universal — I've gone ahead and swatched the shades both on bare skin (left) as well as over a white base (right, NYX Milk Jumbo Eye Pencil)

Like many folks, I wasn't overly crazy with the color selection, but after swatching and playing around with the palette it has definitely grown on me. Clementine and Star were by far the best performing shades, while Dagger was the worst, at least in my experience. Hopefully these swatches both with and without a base were helpful!
