Bite Beauty Watercolor Lip Gloss Library (0.60 oz.) retails for $49 USD ($53 CAD) and contains twelve (12 x 0.05 oz.) limited edition, sheer watercolor inspired glosses that are said to "provide a beautiful, translucent wash of color and alluring shine."

If you're new to the brand here are some facts: Bite is exclusive to Sephora and their products are free of petrochemicals, as well as being certified gluten-free. All lip products are made with nurturing food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat! The founder believes, "You eat what you put on your lips, so your lipstick should be good for you."

The glosses come housed in a cardboard sleeve that's fun and eye catching—definitely a nice added touch. The glosses themselves come housed in a transparent plastic tube with a rubberized cap. They feature a flexible doe-foot applicator that has a more unique shape that naturally hugs the lips when applying the product. They also have a mild citrus-type scent that can be noticed on initial application, but not tasted.

One is a pale yellow with warm undertones and a cream finish. This shade applied sheer, tacky and settled into the fine lines of my lips due to the milky, cream consistency. One lasted +3 hours before fading. (2/5)

Two is a pale pink with cool undertones and a cream finish. It applied sheer, tacky and had an uneven appearance due to the milky color settling into the fine lines of my lips. Two wore well for +3 hours before fading. (2/5)

Three is a light, muted pink with cool undertones and a cream finish. This shade was semi-sheer, tacky and had a streakier, uneven appearance. Three wore well for +3 hours and settled into lip lines during wear. (3/5)

Four is a pale lavender with cool undertones and a cream finish. This shade applied semi-sheer, tacky and had a thicker consistency than your average gloss. Due to the milky appearance of the gloss, I noticed the color settled into the fine lines of my lips. Four lasted +3 hours before fading. (2/5)

Five is a pale mint with cool undertones and a cream finish. It applied sheer, tacky and had a milky, cream consistency that settled into lip lines over time. Five wore well for +3 hours. (2/5)

Six is a light-medium, peachy pink with warm undertones and a cream finish. This shade was almost fully opaque, evenly and had a less milky consistency than the other shades. Six wore well for +4 hours and very lightly settled into lip lines towards the end of wear. (3/5)

Seven is a medium, brightened red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It applied semi-opaque, mostly even and had a thicker consistency than your average gloss. Seven wore well for +4.5 hours and was lightly hydrating. (4/5)

Eight is a medium, muted orange with warm undertones and a cream finish. It applied semi-sheer, tacky and mostly even. Eight wore well for +4 hours and was lightly hydrating through wear. (4/5)

Nine is a medium-dark berry with warm undertones and a cream finish. This shade applied semi-sheer, uneven and tacky. While it didn't settle into the fine lines of my lips, it was still patchy. Nine wore well for +4 hours. (3/5)

Ten is a medium, brightened pink with warm undertones and a cream finish. This shade was semi-sheer, tacky, mostly even and applied easier than most of the other shades. Ten wore well for +4 hours. (3/5)

Eleven is a medium, bright fuchsia with cool undertones and a cream finish. It was mostly opaque and applied smoothly and evenly. This particular shade had the best appearance on the lips due to it's brighter nature. Eleven wore well for +5 hours. (4/5)

Twelve is a medium-dark purple with hints of fuchsia, warm undertones and a cream finish. It applied semi-sheer, unevenly, tacky and looked very patchy on the lips. Twelve wore well for +3 hours and was lightly hydrating. (3/5)

Overall, while this set was visually appealing, the formula was inconsistent with a consistency that was thick, very tacky and difficult to apply and disperse evenly over the lips at times. The more unique, pastel shades performed poorly and had sheer color payoff that settled into lip lines over time. Even the more standard shades had their downfalls in performance.

In a whole, this set was truly all over the place—for beauty collectors, I can see the set being a nice display piece to their vanity, but for those looking to actually get use of the products, I would continue the search to find a better alternative.
