Kat Von D Transformer Liquid Lipstick (0.20 oz.) retails for $20 USD ($23 CAD) and is available in one, limited edition shade. It said to be "a sheer iridescent top coat-gloss for a complete lip color metamorphosis."

The packaging is identical to the brands standard liquid lipsticks—it's a long, thin plastic tube with a velvet, doe-foot applicator. This gloss also has no apparent scent or taste.

Superliminal is a translucent pink with an iridescent sheen and a glossy finish. The consistency is quite thin and never feels sticky or tacky on the lips. It applies smoothly alone and paired over other products. This is also a very unique gloss to apply, as it changes color as soon as it hits the skin—almost as if the iridescent pearl was "heat activated."

On the lips alone, it looks like a clear gloss with a light hint of pink, depending on your natural lips pigmentation. When paired over other products (ie. liquid lipsticks) I found that it didn't necessarily change the color, it mostly just brought the color to life and made it glossy on the lips. Superliminal lasted +3.5 hours before fading and felt neither drying nor hydrating. (4/5)

Overall, while this may not be the most eye catching or long-lasting gloss on the lips when worn alone, it is comfortable, unique during application and looks exceptionally magical in the tube. For those of you who are looking to "transform" liquid lipsticks or other lip products, I honestly think any clear or tinted gloss will do. But with that said, this is a beautiful item to have in your collection, especially if you're a fan of the brand!
