Monthly Favorites | June 2015

It's not often that a Monthly Favorites feature happens on my channel or blog, mostly because I find myself typically reaching for the same same old items—or as some may call them, the holy grail products. Regardless, another month has come and gone and summer is finally here! Due to the warmer weather I've found myself switching it up a little so today I'm going to share with you the apart-from-usual products I've been using throughout the month of June!

China Glaze Nail Lacquer in For Audrey
- The perfect Tiffany Blue shade for summer. The formula applies smoothly and opaque in two coats, only minor chipping after 4-6 days of wear—what else can I say, it's a favorite for sure!

MAC Lipstick in Stone
- When I first swatched this color, I didn't think it would be the type of lipstick shade that I would wear often—but I have! It can be a little troublesome around the edges if you don't pair it with a suitable lip liner, but it's a long-lasting unique shade.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
- Light, medium and dark neutral shades all in one palette—how much easier could it be! It's been my go-to for awhile now, especially when adding a quick wash of definition to my crease.

BUXOM Lash Mascara
- I don't think I've ever featured or mentioned this mascara before because honestly, it's not a thrilling mascara. It has such a natural finish, but it's one of my favorites for lazy days. Especially for quick, easy "no makeup" makeup looks. It doesn't give your lashes major volume, length or drama, instead I find it simply separates, darkens and leaves your lashes looking more noticeably defined. They still look natural, while remaining flexible and weightless. (My only downfall is I wish it was the waterproof version!)

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon in Blacquer
- Super quick, I'll usually smudge this liner into my upper lashline. It's pigmented and budgeproof; even after a full day out in the sun there's minimal transfer to my lower waterline. It stays put and it stays black.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
- Like I said, I've been rocking the "no makeup" makeup a lot this past month. Brush some clear gel through my eyebrows to hold them in place and we're good to go! It's nothing fancy, but it does the trick—even through sweat and sun!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Color Correcting Adjust (Green)
- Let's face it, we all get flushed when we're hot and with my house lacking air conditioning, that's where I'm at 95% of the time—beat red and exhausted. I've always liked the Smashbox primers; they smooth and even out your skins natural texture for a flawless foundation application. I'm a big fan of the green corrector, as it cancels out any redness without being too overly pigmented that your left looking unwell.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone / Opal
- "Strobing" is the newest trend to hit the makeup world and just in time for summer. I've personally always loved a strong sheen highlight and these highlighting powders make achieving that look so extremely easy. They leave your skin glowing without looking dewy or oily—absolutely beautiful!
————————
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 0.5
- This foundation is lightweight, extremely easy to apply in a hurry or with your fingers, and it also pairs extremely well with concealers for any extra coverage you may need in areas.

Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix Setting Spray
- Summer means hot weather, hot weather usually means sweat and sweat causes all kinds of make up accidents. I mostly have minor issues with my foundation separating around my laugh lines and nose. This setting spray is not only refreshing, but it helps create a little extra "seal" to stop foundations and powders from moving so much. While it doesn't fully prevent it, I've noticed my base products last +2-3 hours longer before showing signs of wear.

Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF 60 Sunscreen
- Since spring hit my best friend, Vic, and I decided we wanted to start being more active through running. The sun definitely takes a toll on your skin and after our first minor encounter with sunburn, I've taken the extra step to apply sunscreen before every adventure. Although it's just your run-of-the-mill SPF lotion, this stuff is great! It has a refreshing coconut scent and the formula isn't thick or greasy on the skin—it absorbs relatively quick. It's also waterproof and sweatproof so there's no need to worry, especially when working your butt off to get up that tormenting river valley hill!

So those are my monthly favorites for June, be sure to let me know yours in the comments!
