SEPHORA COLLECTION Endless Kisses: Glossy Lip Pencils Edition

Sephora Collection Endless Kisses retails for $28 USD ($34 CAD) and contains 8 Glossy Lip Pencils (8 x 0.078 oz.) The set is limited edition and labelled as an online exclusive, but I found mine at my local Sephora store. It is said to be "a collection of eight glossy lip pencils in an array of tones from nudes to vibrant shades with iridescent shimmer and glitter finishes."

The Sephora Collection Glossy Lip Pencils individually retail for $10 USD ($12.50 CAD) and contain 0.1 oz. of product. According to product details, the pencils in this set are slightly less product than a regular pencil, making this set actually contain $62 USD ($78 CAD) worth of product – while it's not the $100 USD ($120 CAD) value Sephora claims, you're still getting a good value nonetheless.

The packaging is a regular plastic, chubby pencil style tube. The bottom section of the pencils are color-coded depending on the shade and they are retractable, meaning there is no need to sharpen them. I noticed while photographing and testing these pencils that the lids don't go on very tightly and pop off occasionally, so be cautious when throwing them in your purse or makeup bag. They have a slight fruity, grape pop scent to them which can be noticed and tasted on initial application.

(01) Copper is a light-medium, copper beige with warm undertones and fine, shimmer. This shade applied semi-sheer, mostly pigmented and had a slight texture due to the shimmer that lightly settled into the fine lines of lips. It was a tad drying when worn and lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)

(02) Soft Rose is a light-medium, brown rose with warm undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied semi-sheer and mostly even, my natural lip color did show in some areas. The consistency was lightly creamy but neither hydrating or drying when worn. It lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

(03) Light Pink is a is a light, soft pearl pink with warm undertones and an iridescent finish. This shade applied semi-sheer, mostly pigmented and had a texture due to the shimmer. While the consistency was lightly creamy, the color and shimmer clumped up into the fine lines of lips. It was drying when worn and lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (3/5)

(04) Coral is a medium, muted coral with warm undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied semi-sheer, mostly pigmented and evenly. The consistency was a tad creamy but neither hydrating or drying during wear. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (4/5)

(05) Hot Pink is a medium, bright pink with cool undertones and flecks of blue glitter. This shade applied semi-sheer, semi-pigmented and had a texture due to the glitter. It was a tad drying when worn and lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

(06) Fuchsia is a medium-dark, vivid fuchsia with cool undertones and a luminous finish. This shade applied a tad sheer, mostly pigmented and evenly. The consistency was lightly creamy but neither hydrating or drying during wear. It lasted +3 hours before fading. (5/5)

(07) Red is a medium-dark, berry red with warm-to-neutral undertones and flecks of gold shimmer. This shade applied semi-sheer, mostly pigmented and uneven in areas. The consistency was lightly cream but neither hydrating or drying during wear. The fine shimmer didn't have a noticeable texture and it lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

(08) Purple is a medium, muted berry mauve with cool undertones and flecks of blue shimmer. This shade applied semi-sheer, semi-pigmented and mostly even. It had a slight texture due to the shimmer, but was neither hydrating or drying during wear. Purple lasted +2.5 hours before fading. (4/5)

Overall, the pencils are sheer, non-moisturizing and wear for a short duration of time, like a lip balm. Since these shades are mostly sheer, keep in mind that your natural lip pigmentation will show through and influence the color. They do leave a soft, glossy finish to your lips, so I can see this set being appealing to those who love lip glosses and are used to products that aren't very long-wearing or overly pigmented. It's a nicely valued set and the selection of shades will be fitting all year round.
