MAC Objects of Affection Collection | Lipglass

MAC released their newest collection Objects of Affection on October 27, 2014 online and October 30, 2014 in-stores. The collection featured 3 lipglass sets and 3 mini pigment sets, plus 1 online exclusive pigment set that was only available in the US [review coming soon]. This collection follows the other holiday collections with glittery, special edition packaging.

"Colour takes over this holiday, in a collection of mini kits filled with gilded hues of Lipglass, Pigment and Glitter dressed up in glitterized boxes adorned with a cameo medallion."

While this set is limited-edition, all of the glosses are part of the permanent range and can be purchased anytime. You are getting a good value as a full-sized Cremesheen (0.08 oz.) and Dazzleglass (0.06 oz.) regularly retail for $20 USD ($23 CAD) each. (Note: the Dazzleglass in the sets actually contains more product than a regular, full-sized tube.)

I picked up one of the three lipglass sets...

* Pink + Plum Lipglass $35 USD / $42 CAD (4 x 0.08 oz.) [Set is LE]
  •  Fashion Scoop is described as a clear pink. [Cremesheen]
  •  Pagoda is described as a frosted cool pink. [Cremesheen]
  •  Loud & Lovely is described as a blue pink. [Cremesheen]
  •  Rags to Riches is described as a plum-pink w/ teal and red pearl. [Dazzleglass]
Fashion Scoop is a very light, pale pink with cool undertones, fine shimmer and a creamy finish. The formula was sheer once applied and had a milky appearance that lightly settled into the fine lines of lips. This shade applied smoothly, mostly-even and lasted +2 hours before fading. (4/5)
Pagoda is a light-medium, pink with cool undertones, fine shimmer and a creamy finish. The formula was sheer once applied and had a milky appearance that settled into the fine lines of lips. This shade applied smoothly, mostly-even and lasted +2 hours before fading. (4/5)
Loud & Lovely is a medium-dark, fuchsia with cool undertones and a creamy finish. The formula was semi-sheer once applied and had a milky appearance that settled into the fine lines of lips. This shade applied smoothly, mostly-even and lasted +2 hours before fading. (4/5)
Rags to Riches is a medium-dark, pink with warm undertones and multi-colored, fine glitter. The base color of the gloss was mostly transparent and applied sheer besides the shimmer. This shade applied smoothly, mostly-even and lasted +3.5 hours before fading. (5/5)
The Cremesheen Glasses have a doe-foot applicator and tend to have a lighter formula that is neither sticky or tacky. It is comfortable to wear – however they do have a milky texture to them which can easily settle into fine lines of lips and appear uneven at times. The Dazzleglasses have a brush applicator and a stickier, tackier formula, but they tend to wear longer than an average gloss. The base color is transparent but the high-shine, sparkly finish is noticeable. All four glosses in the set have MAC's signature vanilla scent.

Overall, the Objects of Affection lipglass sets contain a nice variety of shades and are a great value whether you're planning to gift the set or pick one up for yourself! I recommend checking them out if you're a fan of sheer, high-shine glosses.
