MAC Artificially Wild Collection

MAC released their newest collection collection Artificially Wild on August 28, 2014 online and September 4, 2014 in-stores. The collection featured lipsticks, lipglasses, lip pencils, eyeshadows, blushes and cream color bases. Quite a few shades in the collection are permanent so it was a rather easy haul.

"Calling wild ones everywhere, nudes rule in colour. Camouflage reigns supreme, while spirited hues for eyes, lips and cheeks stir a restless freedom of expression. Declare independence in subversive greys, golden beige-browns and soft, dirty mauves. Stand out in sexy, statement shades of Lipstick, Lip Pencil, Cream Colour Base and Powder Blush. This season, nude makes an impact in a collection of untamed neutrals that is anything but bare."
Here's what I picked up from the collection...

Powder Blush $22 USD / $26 CAD (0.21 oz.) [LE]
  •  Next to Skin is described as a soft beige. [Matte]
  •  Pink Cult is described as a mid-tone dirty neutral pink. [Matte]
  •  Taupe is described as a soft beige brown. [Matte]
Next to Skin is a light, neutral gray-beige with a matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, pigmented and easy to blend on the skin. Depending on your skintone, this blush could be used as a contour as the shade is buildable - on medium-darker skintones I could see this blush working well as a highlight also. It lasted +8 hours before fading.  (5/5)
Pink Cult is a light, neutral pink with a matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, velvety and easy to blend on the skin. This shade had great color payoff which didn't grab in some areas like lighter blushes tend to do. It lasted +8 hours before fading around the edges. (5/5)
Taupe is a medium, neutral gray-taupe with a matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, finely-milled and easy to blend on the skin. This shade had incredible color payoff and would be an excellent contour shade for medium-darker skintones. It lasted +9 hours before fading. (Note: This shade used to be available as a Pro Product but it's not currently listed on the website.)  (5/5)

OverallArtificially Wild featured a few permanent products and shades, lucky for me, one of them being the Explicit lipglass. This collection definitely had a 90's vibe to it with their very neutral, deep brown lipsticks and subtle eye shadows, but it was a plain and simple collection nonetheless - especially competing with MAC x The Simpsons Collection!
