I've been eyeing this palette ever since it came out and finally caved on Boxing Day. As soon as I swatched Foxy I knew this palette had to be mine! Urban Decay is known for their buttery, velvety smooth texture of shadows. And this palette definitely lives up to and exceeds that expectation!
The Naked Basics palette retails for $27 USD ($32 CAD) and includes 6 Matte Shadows (0.05 oz) It features matte finishes, four of which are never-before-seen shades.
* Venus is described as a soft, off-white demi-matte.
* Foxy is described as a very light yellow/white matte.
* Walk of Shame is described as a very light nude matte.
* Naked2 is described as a taupe matte.
* Faint is described as a warm, dusty brown matte.
* Crave is described as a deepest, darkest brown/black matte.
All the shadows in this set are pigmented, smooth, easy to blend and just all around a dream to work with. The only things that may turn you away from this palette is how similar it can be to the other Naked palettes, or that the shade Venus is more of a frost than a matte. Otherwise they're all phenomenal!
The packaging has this neat rubberized, silicone texture to it. The palette itself is very compact, lightweight and travel friendly. It's small enough it could fit in your wallet! It's almost hard to believe there are full sized shadows inside when you first pick it up.
Overall, I highly recommend the Naked Basics palette to anyone who loves Urban Decay shadows or neutral shades!
